It's one o'clock in the morning, I'm tired but I choose not to sleep. I also choose to listen to this project by Wun Two, a producer from Germany who makes awesome beats. He makes the type of beats you could vibe out to, ride to, make love to, It honestly doesn't matter what you're doing his beats could fit the situation.
The project I'm currently reviewing is wun two & biggie smalls the fat EP it's a remix of a few Notorious BIG songs including Big Poppa, Suicidal Thoughts, Juicy, Dead Wrong, Party n Bullshit, Machine Gun Funk, and Kick in the Door. Wun Two provides excellent instrumentals to match the timeless Biggie acapellas. the vibe of the project reminds me of 'A Tribe Called Quest' and Madlib so if you are into them I definitely suggest you give this project a listen. the only problem I have with this project is the length, I wish it was longer and I also wish he added Sky is the Limit, Notorious Thugs, and Unbelievable. that being said this has its gems and choosing a favorite track is honestly one of the hardest things I'm split between big.poppa(chronic.version) and dead.wrong
Listing to this is a reminder of how important beats are and the role producers play in the culture of hip hop. Wun Two did a great job I didn't feel like the vocals over powered the beats or vice versa.
